Blogger Love: Jennifer of Just Add Glam!

MAY 16, 2013

SOURCE: JUSTADDGLAM.COM

Jennifer of Just Add Glam looks so comfy and cool in this flirty spring ensemble! I love how this outfit brilliantly combines the floral skirts we’ve all been stockpiling for the spring, and the cute but casual sweaters left over from fall. Then, the real fun comes in when you combine these pieces with punchy accessories like bold heels, shades, or a stud bracelet. Jennifer has done all of the above beautifully!

MAY 14, 2013

Who can argue with this perfect springtime look from Kimberly of Penny Pincher Fashion? Again, hard-meets-soft might be my favorite theme for this season. Pairing tough girl aviator shades with florals? Beautiful! Using an INPINK chain bracelet to add spunk to a feminine color palette? Inspired! This outfit proves that if you’re thoughtful about coordinating, you can definitely look great on a budget!

Spring Fashion Trends: Black and White and Gold

MAY 10, 2013

SOURCE: INPINKSTYLE.POLYVORE.COM

Let’s put a spin on the black and white trend popular this spring!

Try adding accessories that feature gold-tone metals to incorporate a subtle layer of complexity that the eye doesn’t expect. This can also make your look incredibly modern! Rock a wrap bracelet with gold studs if you’re wearing pieces that feature geometric patterns or a punk rock edge. Or try capping a flirty black and white dress with an all black polish to add an extra touch of mystery!

Trends can provide excellent inspiration but don’t follow them as fashion religion! Use them as a base to branch out. The easiest way to experiment is with your accessories first!

Blogger Love: Beth of Seersucker And Saddles

MAY 6, 2013

SOURCE: SEERSUCKERANDSADDLES.BLOGSPOT.COM

I am absolutely enamoured with this pink and pastels spring look from Beth of Seersucker and Saddles. This outfit is incredibly versatile and would wear beautifully in the office or out for a day in the sunshine. I also adore the spunky contrast between this soft color palette and Beth’s edgy accessories including INPINK’s Gray Rhinestone And Leather Wrapped Chain Necklace. Pairing that with a string of feminine pearls is absolutely genius!

Spring Fashion Trends: Statement Shades

MAY 3, 2013

SOURCE: INPINKSTYLE.POLYVORE.COM

The weather here at INPINK’s headquarters is balmy, warm, and perfect for a pair of shades! This got me thinking about the huge resurgence in statement eyewear this spring. This season is all about untraditional colors and quirky shapes but it can be challenging to build your outfit around a “temporary” accessory.

When your glasses are the boldest bit of your look your outfit could lose half its impact after the sun goes down! That’s why I recommend pairing sassy shades with a pair of distinctive earrings. These two pieces can work brilliantly together as long as each has its own personality. Mix, match, and experiment within your collection to find some truly unexpected pairings! This way your looks will keep their edge long after the sun goes down!

Spring Fashion Trends: Statement Leggings

APRIL 29, 2013

SOURCE: INPINKSTYLE.POLYVORE.COM

Here’s a fun trend: statement leggings! I’ll admit that it took me awhile to warm up to these. Leggings have exploded in popularity over the last few years and are still a statement in and of themselves. These pieces are also very easy to look great in, and even easier to look horrific in (from unfortunate angles we can’t always see). Now, take that level of fashion risk and add a bodacious print. It’s more than a little scary, but the tradeoff when done right is absolutely fantastic!

I say embrace the bold! If done right, printed leggings are hip, edgy, and youthful with minimal effort. It’s also on trend with a devil-may-care attitude in modern fashion that I happen to love.I only have one crucial tip: Don’t take yourself too seriously in these! Sport bold accessories with a cheeky tee and do something new with your hair. Then walk with enough confidence that any imperfection looks ironically intentional!

Red Carpet: January Jones

APRIL 24, 2013

SOURCE: TOMANDLORENZO.COM

January Jones is no Betty in this confusing and juvenile ensemble at The Paley Center for Media presentation of Mad Men season 5. There's so much happening here. I’m not sure where to begin.

First, the mix-matching of all these pieces is confusing and too desperate to be edgy and unconventional.  I also loathe the styling; the hair looks last minute, the lipstick washes her out, and there is no jewelry. Then we get to this horrible top. On one hand the embroidery is matronly and dated. On the other hand, the sheer “baby doll” trim looks vulgar worn under a jean jacket that I could see a twelve year old in.

She should’ve stolen a dress from her Mad Men wardrobe and rocked some pretty, vintage-style earrings. That would’ve worked better.
