Bio

Stephanie Henry is a Minneapolis-based pianist, composer, and musical theater artist whose work blends classical technique with vibrant influences from pop, rock, R&B, and Southern roots music. A passionate storyteller, Stephanie composes original works that spotlight themes of identity, hybridity, resistance, and the untold stories of people of color.

She is the creator of Willow Storm and the Lightning Bolts, a glam rock musical exploring gender, friendship, and transformation, and is currently developing a new piece about child prodigy Philippa Schuyler. Stephanie’s music has been supported by the Minnesota State Arts Board, and she is a proud MUSE artist.

As a pianist, Stephanie is known for her expressive playing, collaborative spirit, and versatility across genres—from musical theater to opera, improvisation to accompaniment. Whether performing in concert, writing for the stage, or teaching, she brings warmth, precision, and emotional depth to her work.
