Mariami

Mariami is a genre-defying singer-songwriter whose Indo-pop sound fuses traditional Georgian folk, R&B, and contemporary indie-pop. She paints with a kaleidoscopic palette, blending Indo-European melodies with soul influences to create a sound that is both progressive and timeless. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, she fled the war at six, arriving in the U.S. under her grandfather’s care while her parents built a new life. She studied Musical Theater at Emerson before double-majoring in Songwriting at Berklee, where she formed her first band. At 23, she moved to New York City, working at Putumayo World Music by day and funding her early recordings with late nights as a hostess in New York nightlife. Her breakthrough came at 29, securing a development deal with City Life Global (Interscope) and moving to Los Angeles, where she earned her first charting hits in Europe across dance and rock genres. Since then, she has written thousands of songs, constantly pushing the boundaries of her music.  In 2021, Mariami was inducted into Spotify’s Notable League alongside legends like Carole King and John Legend. With 13 million+ Spotify streams, five #1 UK singles, and an Apple Keynote feature, Mariami continues to shape the future of Indo-pop, crafting music that is at once global and disarmingly intimate.
